Following various career pathways, Judy Evans commenced a career in nursing & midwifery in Yorkshire in the late 1970s moving to Essex in the 1980s. Midwifery has proved to be a fulfilling and rewarding career with experience gained in all areas; hospital, community and group practice both in the UK and overseas. Over many years she has lectured at ARU, taking up a full-time lecturer post in May 2013.

Research interests are various and currently exploring the administration of oramorph in the management of latent labour.
Teaching
Judy is primarily responsible for pre-registration midwifery. To date she has been module lead on two modules. This academic year and with a new curriculum, she’s the module lead on Fundamentals of Midwifery Practice 1 and tutor on Return to Practice Midwifery. She assists with clinical skills sessions on other modules and also assesses on the NIPE course, both pre- and post-registration. CPD is a passion and she has delivered in January 2015, ‘A Gynaecological Nursing Update for CPD’, a course for registered nurses.
